Welcome to Sparmont, a charming hamlet nestled in the municipality of Hamoir. Here, an exemplary planting project is being implemented, designed to strengthen local biodiversity. It intelligently combines different types of vegetation: a double-row hedge, a row of swamp oaks, as well as a row of pollard willows.

PIERRE’S PROJECT
Pierre Peltzer has taken over the family farm, comprising cultivated land and forest plots. Passionate about forests, he has undertaken numerous developments around his land to promote biodiversity: rows of trees, reforestation with future-oriented species, free-growing or low-trimmed hedges…
We are supporting him today in this dynamic, for the planting of a field-edge hedge and a row of swamp oaks. A project that fully aligns with an ecological network approach, at the crossroads of Ouffet’s agricultural and forest landscapes.

STRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS
The project comprises three main sections:
- A double-row hedge over 250 meters.
- A row of swamp oaks with 22 trees planted over nearly 250m.
- A row of pollard willows over 170 meters, with 74 willows.
Meeting numerous eligibility criteria for its Takecare sustainability program, the company Trafic has chosen to co-finance the 230 meters of hedge, the row of swamp oaks over .
These elements form a coherent landscape framework. The honey-producing and nourishing hedges provide an ecological link between neighboring woodlands, while offering food and shelter to numerous species. The row of oaks, for its part, structures the path and provides a strong landscape impact.
A beautiful illustration of a living territory where agriculture, biodiversity, and landscape coexist harmoniously.
