Bart contacted us regarding the planting of several kilometers of hedges. His objective is to plant for increased biodiversity. Thanks to these kilometers of hedges, biodiversity will be able to spread from one woodland to another. Shrikes will be delighted to find thorny shrubs to hang their best prey on, and bats will be able to orient themselves!
Bart thus aims to strengthen the ecological network on his farm, while promoting a host of beneficial insects active against pests.

Hedges: an ecological and nourishing corridor
Fulfilling numerous criteria eligible for its Takecare sustainability program, the company Trafic opted to co-finance the approximately 2,071 meters of hedges.
The planting occurred during February 2025, following a period of intense rain. To ensure the success of this hedge, we opted for soil milling.
The hedge lines are composed of hawthorn, broom, goat willow, hazel, medlar*… A blend of nearly 20 different species of native shrubs has now been planted.
We visited the hedge in June 2025 with Bart: a notable success!
