A little bit of history

Bertrand Louppe has a complementary farming activity. He manages less than 6 hectares, 2 of which are cultivated and 4 are pastureland. The latter is classified as having high biological value.

Biodiversity holds an important place in Bertrand’s operation, even if it is small. This strong commitment convinced us to support his project!

Upstream, the farmer meticulously prepared the site before the plants arrived. While awaiting planting, Bertrand carefully stored the 800 plants. The project involves 170m of double-row hedge. The remaining plants will be used to create small shrub areas (like groves).

Checking the recovery rate

The visit on May 29, 2026, in Walcourt confirms an excellent regrowth of the plantings at Bertrand Louppe’s. The recovery rate is excellent, and the overall condition of the plants testifies to a successful establishment. Furthermore, the maintenance of the herbaceous layer has been carried out. We know the hedge is in good hands!

The repellent against herbivores, identifiable by the blue trace on the stems, has clearly played its role: damage from game is minimal, which allowed the young plants to develop unhindered.

The entire system is brilliantly effective, and the growth dynamic observed on the plot is very encouraging for the continuation of the project. We wish Bertrand all the best!
